Encaustic painting is a simple process that produces impressive results with luminous and jewel-like surfaces and textures. Heated wax can be fused and melted to create luscious layers for collage of paper, fabric and dried organic materials. The surfaces can be rough and sculptural or smooth and shiny. It is ideal for scribing with lines, working abstractly or in a more representational style. This is a solvent free medium. You will learn the essentials to get started. The material list will be mailed or is available on our website. Enrollment limited to 6 students.
