Encaustic Workshops: January 15, 22 + 29 at Fulton Hill School Studio 1-4p

Find out how to use beeswax as a medium for painting for the first time or come back and refresh your skills and try new techniques.

Encaustic is a combination of beeswax, pigment and damar resin, heated to a molten consistency. Come to the workshop and learn the translucent, sensual, fun, solvent free and surprising qualities of this ancient medium rediscovered with the latest tools and equipment.

Tools, equipment and most materials supplied. I will have small 4x6 inch pieces of wood and matboard for you to practice the demonstrations. To make larger work, students bring their own panels or purchase here.

All styles of work possible. Observe the various demos with collage, texture, stencils, and relief imprints then try them in the open work time. Follow those demos or work freely on your own.

Each 3 hour workshop is 50.00 which includes the materials fee of 10.00.
