Encaustic painting is a simple process that produces impressive results with luminous and jewel- like surfaces and textures. Heated Wax can be fused and melted to create luscious layers for collage of paper, fabric and dries organic materials. The surfaces can be rough and sculptural or smooth and shiny. You will learn safe studio practices, surface prep, Fusing, creating smooth as well as textured surfaces, working with paper. collage and transfers.

Encaustic at Workhouse: 2-3pm Saturday September 10 in W-6
There will be an encaustic/hot wax painting demonstration for those who would like to know more about this ancient medium, updated with new tools and equipment.
