November 2 at the Workhouse, Lorton, VA

2 spots available as of October 2

All Skill Levels, Young Adults & Adults
This workshop is for artists who are new to encaustic or have only just started. Encaustic is a luminous medium that is made up of molten beeswax, pigment and damar resin. Once an ancient process, it is now updated with new tools and equipment. The process produces impressive results with jewel- like surfaces and textures. We will cover safe studio practices, melting and fusing, line and edge, working with paper, patterns and texture. Each participant will be supplied with a small practice panel (4x6”) for each technique on which to practice. I supply the equipment, paint, medium, brushes and tools. (Meets in W-7)

Session D: Sat Nov 2 (11am-5pm)
Session E: Thur Nov 21 (11am-5pm)

Tuition: $125 (Members) & $135 (Non-Members)
(Materials cost of $35, payable to the instructor at workshop.)
