complete

Experience the process of working with the solvent-free, luminous colors of encaustic; ideal for beginners. Encaustic is a luminous medium that is made up of molten beeswax, pigment and resin. Techniques of melting and fusing the wax, making clean lines and edges, and methods of texture, and collage will be demonstrated and discussed. Encaustic is ideal for working abstractly or in a more representational style. A small wooden panel (4x5?) for each of the techniques demonstrated will be provided. Bring an optional 9x12 inch board for larger work. Equipment, paint, medium, brushes and tools are supplied.
