Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, is an ancient painting method that combines pigment, molten beeswax, and resin. Finished pieces can appear smooth, shiny, or textured as well as three-dimensional. This makes the medium ideal for working abstractly or in a representational style. In this workshop, you’ll begin to explore melting and fusing the wax, making clean lines and edges, and methods of collage and texture.

For people who have some experience, come back and get a refresher or continue to delve in more deeply to ongoing projects.  This could also be an opportunity to explore new inspiration.
